Welcome to all Humber students!
Humber has been like a second home to me over the past few years, and as your president of the Humber Students’ Federation (HSF), I will make every effort to extend the sense of home and community to all 25,000+ full time students across our 3 campuses. But I can’t do this alone – I’m going to need your help… and all you have to do is get involved!

There are countless ways to get involved with the HSF. Whether it’s from forming or joining a club on campus, volunteering, participating in our many exciting events, or representing your classmates as a program rep or board member, getting involved is easily the best decision you can make while studying at Humber. As a first year student who simply went to class and straight home afterwards, I can definitely say that my life as a student here has improved tremendously since getting involved with HSF. By getting involved, you gain the opportunity to meet tons of new people, experience personal growth, have something to do outside of class, and develop relationships that can last a lifetime.

One thing I’ve learned is that life as a student isn’t easy. Not only do you have to worry about readings, tests, assignments, group projects, and everything else class-related, but many of you also have to balance work and family life on top of all that. Here at HSF we try to make your life a little easier as a student with plenty of services to take advantage of. A comprehensive health and dental plan is supplemented by not only a pharmacy on campus, but a dental office and a health centre as well. For those of you strapped for cash, fill out a bursary application and check out our food program. We also offer a used book market where you can buy and sell used textbooks, as well as free legal and financial advice.

They say that your college years are among the best times of your life. I say that life is what you make of it, and that life at Humber can easily be exciting, memorable, and particularly rewarding, as long as you take advantage of everything Humber and the HSF has to offer you. So get involved, meet new people, learn something new about Humber every day, and always feel free to drop by the HSF offices to chat!
