BODs & Program Reps – Because School Comes
So you want to get that experience on your resume, or maybe you want to take steps to improve your program. It could be that you want to become a part of the HSF Student culture.
–There’s just one problem!–
Time! Whatever way you spin it, you are still a student. An executive position seems like it could be much more than you could handle; after all, focusing on graduating is priority number #1. Maybe you should focus your time on a position based around academic change rather than organizational change.
Have you heard of the program representative or board of director positions?
These volunteer opportunities are great ways to make an impact at Humber and work with your fellow students on YOUR time. Program Representatives and BODs are the agents of change within their school; getting to know the needs and wants of their fellow students, and visioning how they can make their program a better place to be a student. These positions are also a great way to gain experience with the student governance before taking the leap into an executive position, providing a great opportunity to work with your fellow students and build up a network.
Program Representative and Board of Director Positions are up for grabs this winter along with executive positions. For more information, check out the job description section of our webpage. If you want to make change work for you and your fellow students, pick up a nomination period before February 17th!
