Employment Policies
The following general regulations are applicable to all part-time staff:
- All students are expected to work their assigned number of hours each week.
- Any deviations from the work schedule must first be cleared with the supervisor.
- Students are expected to notify their supervisor when they are unable to attend to their responsibilities (i.e. sick, car problems, school conflicts, etc.) with appropriate notice.
- All students will appropriately log their hours or will not be paid for that time.
- Employees must be prompt and dependable. Punctuality is vital to customer service and fosters consideration for fellow employ ees. Tardiness will not be accepted.
In addition to student employees, supervisors are also expected to adhere to certain rules. The supervisor should:
- Set-up desired working schedule with student and obtain information (name, address, phone number, etc.) for future reference if necessary.
- Define student’s duties.
- Train students properly for duties assigned.
- Provide day-to-day supervision.
- Advise students about problems of attendance or assignments.
- Conduct performance reviews each semester to ensure expectations are met.
