Position Overview
The Lead Events Assistant is responsible for managing the Events Assistant team and for the operation of the Events office. The Lead Events Assistant will receive direction from the Programming Director/Coordinator and will work in conjunction with all departments of the HSF.

 

Responsibilities
This is a highly situational position that requires a great deal of flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances, duties include but are not limited to:

  • Schedule appropriate number of employees for all HSF events, programs and activities
  • Delegation of tasks to Events Assistant team
  • Work with other school departments including Residence, LinX pub, International Office, and Athletics to promote events and increase student involvement
  • Assist HSF clubs in room bookings and provide general information
  • Act as a project leader during Orientation and Frosh Week
  • Assist in the maintenance and management of the HSF Student Centre
  • Manage Events Office and perform administrative duties
  • Set up, operation, and teardown of HSF events including assembly/disassembly, public speaking, clean up, decorating and signage

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Energetic, hardworking individual with the ability to take initiative
  • Flexible schedule and occasional evening availability
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Managerial or Supervisory experience an asset
  • Comfortable speaking to the public
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent leadership skills
