Position Overview
The HSF Events and Audio/Video Assistant is responsible for supporting all audio/video components of HSF activities. The Events and Audio/Video Assistant will also perform regular Events Assistant duties and during times of inactivity will assist in the HSF Events Office. The incumbent will work in conjunction with all departments of the HSF, under direction of the Programming Director/Coordinator and Lead Events Assistant.

Responsibilities
This is a highly situational position that requires a great deal of flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances, duties include but are not limited to:
1. Events

  • Setup, teardown and operation of Pioneer DJM 3000 mixer, Mackie 1402 VLZPRO Soundboard, Equalizer, microphones, instruments, and touch-screen controlled audio/video system
  • Event set-up, teardown and operation that may include: decorations, stage and skirting (dis)assembly, chair set-up, equipment load-in/out for bands, signage, gathering supplies, recruitment of student participation, communication with students, and hosting special guests

2. Events Office

  • Assisting students, answering calls and performing minor administrative tasks
  • Assist HSF clubs with providing and receiving forms, releasing cheques, and general inquiries

3. Additional Duties

  • Organization of equipment room and constant inventory of all audio/video equipment
  • Provide training to other part time staff and oversee all operation of A/V equipment

Minimum Requirements

  • Adequate technical knowledge of operating audio/video equipment
  • Flexible schedule and occasional evening availability
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Detail oriented with strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Energetic, hardworking individual with the ability to take initiative
  • Comfortable speaking to the public
